Young LEADERS PROGRAM

The March of the Living is a 2-week long journey in both Poland and Israel, with some of the highlights being:
The March of the Living itself - a walk from Auschwitz 1 to Birkenau, culminating in a mass memorial ceremony - is a tribute to all victims of the Holocaust, their memories and their legacies. The March is designed to contrast with the death marches, which began towards the end of World War II;
After spending one week in Poland visiting sites of Nazi Germany’s persecution, as well as former and current sites of Jewish life and culture, participants travel to Israel the following week to celebrate Israel’s and the Jewish people's survival, growth and triumph. They experience both the emotional intensity of Yom HaShoah in Poland and Yom Hazikaron in Israel through to the joyous celebration of Yom Ha'atzmaut, Israel's Independence Day;
March of the Living Australia has created a 6 month Young Leaders program (18-32 year olds), which includes 3 workshops, the March of the Living program, and then 6 workshops after. These workshops will empower each participant with the skills, knowledge, and inspiration to be effective leaders in their communities. Applicants are welcome from both the Jewish and non Jewish communities.
The 'out of pocket' cost to the successful applicants is capped with the balance being funded by March of the Living Australia from funds which we raise for this purpose. We hope to be able to offer this opportunity once again in 2025.
The application process is fairly rigorous and entails both a written application as well as an interview. Sadly, due to the limited funding not all applicants will secure a spot and each spot is contested.
