Eva Zeleznikow is the granddaughter of Holocaust Survivors Avram and Masha Zeleznikow, proprietors of the famed Cafe Scheherazade in Melbourne, Australia. Eva's brother Joseph was a participant on the 2018 Student March of the Living program, and as such Eva was able to see the immense impact the program left on him.
Eva completed a Bachelor of Social Work with Honours in 2018, with her thesis topic being 'Second and third generation Holocaust trauma: a critical exploration of survivor trauma and its implications for social work'. In 2015-16 Eva was a Youth Movement Leader at Hineni Youth and Welfare, and in the Summer of 2017 she was a leader on the Academy-Onward 6-week Israel Program for young Australians. Eva was also the RUJSS (RMIT University Jewish Students Society) Secretary in 2017 and Vice President in 2018.
Upon completing her degree, Eva worked as An Activities Facilitator at Jewish Care Victoria. She created a social group supporting elders in the Jewish community to share their life stories with loved ones. Many of the participants were Shoah survivors aged over ninety who migrated to Australia after the WWII. In October 2021, Eva left Australia to pursue The Weiss Livnat MA in Holocaust Studies at the University of Haifa, Israel. Eva is dedicated to researching the Shoah and is passionate about educating the younger generation on the Holocaust.
