About the Event

We are excited to welcome Eva Zeleznikow for this online event, who will offer a glimpse into her experience as a student in the Weiss Livnat MA in Holocaust Studies in Haifa, Israel.  Eva will present one of the topics she has been researching, the Wittenberg Affair, where the Jewish Council (Judenrat) in the Vilna Ghetto was given an ultimatum by the Germans: either they could surrender the head of the underground partisan fighters, or the Nazis would liquidate and destroy the entire ghetto. Eva will unpack some key findings of choiceless choices and survival in the Vilna Ghetto.
