I was born and raised in South Africa with family from Rhodes & Russia. My grandmother survived Auschwitz and after the war moved to Zaire with my grandfather and then to South Africa. I have a deep sense of pride in our Jewish heritage and the strong values and culture that we as Jews bring to the world. I am deeply concerned with the growth in hate in all its forms including Anti-Semitism and there is indeed an urgent need to address this. To be a part of March of the living, is to honour the memory of those we lost, and to educate the next generation to eradicate hate and be a beacon of light and love for all. This is our mission and destiny as a people.
